My first camera was a plastic KODAK point and shoot, my first fine art teacher, my father. I had had an interest in photography early on, but was more experienced in drawing and painting — thanks to him — with works at MOMA and the Metropolitan as his teaching assistants. I truly began to focus on photography after getting my BA. I’ve been drawn to various types of photography – landscape, street, still life, black and white, color, film, digital. Living in Paris and working in front of the camera for many years gave me infinite insight which would later fuel my passion for portraiture. Once back in New York, I spent several years in ICP’s Continuing Education program studying Black and White photography, development and printing. I began shooting maternity on a whim at a baby shower in 2007 and thus discovered a new specialty. Capturing special moments in individuals’ and families’ lives is a pleasure, and I am grateful to have been blessed with so many opportunities!

I am available for personal or commercial contract work. Please email me at adriaaip@gmail.com for any inquiries.
